Sarbjit Cheema to Headline Osler Foundation’s 11th Annual Holi Gala – Festival of Colours in Support of Local Hospitals

William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation) is excited to announce Sarbjit Cheema as the headline performer for the 11th annual Holi Gala – Festival of Colours presented by BVD Group, in support of William Osler Health System (Osler).

Taking place on April 6 at Pearson Convention Center, Holi Gala will raise funds to help transform Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, bring expanded cancer care services to Brampton Civic Hospital, and help ensure Etobicoke General Hospital has the resources needed to continue providing the specialized care the community needs.

“Holi Gala is the most highly-anticipated event of the year for many and we look forward to ushering in spring alongside returning supporters and new friends,” said Dr. Gurjit Bajwa and Pal Ghumman, co-chairs, Holi Gala Committee. “The dedicated volunteer steering committee has been working hard for several months to ensure another spectacular evening of dancing, food, celebration and music, all in support of local health care.”

In Ontario, communities are responsible for 10 per cent of all hospital redevelopment costs, as well as 100 per cent of hospital equipment. Since its inception, Holi Gala has raised more than $7 million for Osler and health care for its rapidly growing, diverse community.

“The enthusiasm our community has for Holi Gala is matched only by their desire to make a positive impact,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation. “The success of Holi Gala continues to be a testament to the sponsors and supporters who step forward year after year. It’s going to be another great night, with our sights set on raising $1 million to help fund priority needs across Osler, including building Brampton’s new hospital.”

“We are incredibly proud to be the presenting sponsor of Holi Gala for the third consecutive year,” said Bikram Dhillon, President, BVD Group. “The funds we raise will make a difference for all of us served by Osler and I encourage others to join us and support our hospitals. There’s more to be done and all of us working together can realize a bright future for community health care.”

In addition to a concert by Indian-Canadian singer Sarbjit Cheema, guests will be treated to high-energy dance performances, gourmet food and a cocktail reception sponsored by CIBC.
