Sukhbir Badal, Sumedh Saini named masterminds of Kotkapura firing case, Parkash Singh Badal among accused

A chargesheet filed by a Punjab Police SIT investigating the 2015 Kotkapura firing case submitted in the court of JMIC Ajaypal Singh in Faridkot reportedly named many prominent personalities in Punjabi politics and law enforcement, including Sukhbir Singh Badal and Parkash Singh Badal of the SAD, according to media reports.

“Sumedh Singh Saini ex DGP and Sukhbir Singh Badal ex-Home Minister both masterminds of conspiracy for illegal and excessive use of force to conceal the inaction of the state on a series of 3 sacrilege incidents of village Burj Jawaher Singhwala and Gurdwara sahib Bargari( affixing of the derogatory poster and scattering of Angs Shri Gurugranth Sahib Ji)… Parkash Singh Badal ex CM also facilitated in the execution of the conspiracy,” detailed the reportedly 7,000-page chargesheet submitted by the SIT team spearheaded by SIT chief ADGP LK Yadav and SSP Bathinda Gulneet Singh Khurana.

According to media reports, alongside Sukhbir and Prakash Badal and the ex-DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, IG Param Raj Umranangal, DIG Amar Singh Chahal SSP Charanjit Singh have also allegedly been named in the chargesheet for execution of conspiracy.

SHO Gurdeep Singh and SSP Sukhmander Singh Mann have also reportedly been named as accused in the 7,000-page chargesheet, for Distortion and concealment of facts, with the latter also booked for execution of conspiracy, media reports further add.
