Jaguars now await winners of the third qualifier game for the title game on Sunday.
Batting first, Surrey Jaguars had some good batting displays by members of the top order as it managed to put on 149 for 9 in the stipulated 20 overs. The main contribution to their total came from Mohammad Haris (20), Jatinder Singh (15), Lutron Das (16), skipper Iftikhar Ahmad (36) and Ayaan Khan (29). For Vancouver Knights. Junaid Siddique was the most successful for Vancouver Knights SS he ended with four for 22. He got ample support from left-arm pacer Ruben (2 for 26), and Karthik Meiyappam (2 for 24).
Set a target of 140 in 20 overs, Vancouver Knights were troubled most by pacer and highest wicket-taker of the tournament so far, Mathew Forde, as he finished with impressive figures of four 16. For Knights, some semblance of the fight was put up by Corbin Bosch 12, Najibullah Zafron 15, Fabien Allen 27 and Ruben 11. Interestingly, extras too contributed 17 to the Knights total that fell 38 runs short of the target. Vancouver Knights still have a chance to make Sunday’s final provided they win the second playoff on Saturday.
Mathew Forde was declared man of the match as Kamal Khera, MP, was the guest of honour.
