Telus, Bell Increasing Roaming Charges From Next Week

Telus and Bell will be increasing their roaming charges from next week. This means people using services provided by the two providers or their subsidiaries traveling outside the country will have to pay more than what they are currently paying. As of now, Rogers has not shared any plans of increasing its roaming charges as well.

It has been reported that two of Canada’s largest telecommunication providers, Telus and Bell, will be increasing roaming charges for their customers from next week. According to the report, customers of Telus Corp.‘s roaming plans, as well as its subsidiary Koodo, will need to pay a daily charge of $14 in the US, which is a $2 increase from the current daily charge. For other international destinations, customers will have to pay $16 per day which is up from $15 to access their plan’s data, with unlimited calls and texts. This will come into effect from March 8.

Similarly, Bell customers, as well as Virgin Mobile users will have to pay $13 a day, up from $12, when roaming in the US. For other countries, they will need to pay $16 a day, up from $15 effective March 9.

Bell and Telus, along with Rogers Communication, are the three largest service providers in Canada. As of now, Rogers has not announced any plans to increase its roaming charges. Currently, Rogers and Fido customers pay $12 to roam in the US and $15 everywhere else.
