Toronto: Banquet Hall stabbing leaves 1 dead; 1 held

According to the Toronto police, a stabbing in a banquet hall in Toronto’s west end left one person dead on Friday.

The police were called to the scene after responding to reports of gunshot firing around 9:30 p.m. on Friday at a banquet hall near Highway 27 and Steeles Avenue West.

After arriving at the scene, authorities reportedly heard a number of gunshots only to find a person wounded with stabbing injuries, according to media reports.

The injured individual was reportedly rushed to receive medical care and succumbed to the injuries at the hospital.

Another individual has reportedly been arrested in relation to the incident, and a firearm has been recovered from the scene, media reports further added.

Police authorities are urging anyone who may have pertinent information to reach out to the Toronto Police Homicide Unit.
