Toronto Man identified in Elnaz Hajtamiri Abduction Case Sought by Police, Considered Dangerous
One of the three suspects involved in the kidnapping of Elnaz Hajtamiri more than a year ago has now been identified as Deshawn Davis, 35, from Toronto. The police have stated that Davis should be considered dangerous and anyone with information should come forward and contact the police.
The warrant for Deshawn Davis’ arrest comes three weeks after police released images of the three people believed to be directly involved in Hajtamiri’s disappearance back in January of 2022. She was abducted from a home on Trailwood Pl. in Wasaga Beach by three people dressed in police gear. Ontario Provincial Police Det. Insp. Martin Graham said, “An arrest warrant has been sworn to and is in existence, and we would encourage Mr. Davis, if he is watching, to turn himself in, and anybody who knows his whereabouts is encouraged to contact police immediately.”
The two other people involved in the kidnapping are also said to be from the Greater Toronto Area. “We certainly do believe that we are closing in on determining exactly what happened to Elnaz and to hold those people responsible,” Graham added.
Early this month, a fifth man was arrested for allegedly attacking Hajtamiri with a frying pan, leaving her hospitalized. The accused was 25-year-old Akash Rana of Delta, B.C. who was presented before the Newmarket court on Thursday.
According to reports, 37-year-old Elnaz Hajtamiri was forcibly taken from a relative’s house by three masked men dressed in police gear on the night of January 12, 2022. She was then taken away in a white 2016 to 2022-model Lexus RX 350 SUV.
The police has asked anyone with information to come forward.
