Four males have been detained by Toronto police, and they have also found about 400 kilogrammes of drugs that they believe were probably brought from Mexico.

According to police, a different investigation that led to the greatest single-day narcotics haul in the agency’s history back in November gave rise to Project Cerro.

Almost 390 kilogrammes of drugs, with an estimated street value of $32 million, have been found as a consequence of Project Cerro, which started last October. These substances include 364 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine, 20 kilogrammes of cocaine, and 3.8 kilogrammes of fentanyl.Four loaded Glock handguns, seven vehicles, and more than $500,000 in Canadian money, according to the police, were also seized during the investigation.

On January 17, the narcotics squad of the Toronto police carried out 15 warranted searches as part of their inquiry.

All seven of the homes that were raided, which the police referred to as “stash houses,” were in Toronto. Two of those homes allegedly had furniture that was used to “conceal contraband,” according to the investigators.

“This is occurring in all of our neighborhoods in Toronto, the GTA and all the smaller towns and municipalities in Ontario property through the importation and distribution of illicit substances, sometimes laced with toxic opioids. The drugs distributed by these organized criminal groups have fueled and continued to fuel gun violence and associated crime and disorder in our communities throughout the country,” said Supt Steven Watts, of Organized Crime Enforcement.
