Amid ongoing tension over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijhar, India had given an ultimatum to Canada to recall 41 of its diplomats by October 10. After India’s strictness, the attitude of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has softened.

Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday that Canada does not want to escalate the situation with New Delhi. According to the report, Canada will continue to have responsible and constructive relations with India.

The Canadian Prime Minister’s comments come at a time when India has given Canada an ultimatum of October 10 to recall 41 diplomats. According to the Financial Times, Trudeau added that his government wants its diplomats to stay in India to help Canadian families.

Let it be said that India has told Canada in clear words that if these diplomats stay in India even after October 10, their diplomatic immunity will also be withdrawn. According to the report, there are currently 62 Canadian diplomats in India. The Modi government has asked to reduce it to 21.
