Two Kids Arrested and Charged For Online Threats Made To Two Schools In Peel

Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged two teenagers in relation to online threats that were made on Wednesday, March 9, 2023, to two separate high schools in Peel Region.

On March 9, 2023, at around 8:45 am, the Peel Police were called to Lincoln Alexander Secondary School in Mississauga after receiving an online threat.

Officers from the peel police department said that they have arrested and charged a 16-year-old female youth from Mississauga with one count of Uttering Threats.

In another incident of an online threat at Chinguacousy Secondary School, Brampton at around 10 am, a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged a 14-year-old male youth with one count of Uttering Threats.

As of now, there is no information available if these two incidents were connected to each other.

Both individuals were released with conditions and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on a future date.

The Police said they would continue to investigate March 2, 2023, online threats made to six high schools in Brampton and Mississauga, that have kept families of school-going children at alert.

Visible police presence can be expected at the following seven high schools in Peel Region:

  • Louise Arbour Secondary School

  • Thomas Aquinas Secondary School

  • Notre Dame Secondary School

  • Chinguacousy Secondary School

  • Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School

  • Lincoln Alexander Secondary School
