Essential and Critical Services

All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue to operate as usual.

Fireworks

The City of Brampton is reminding residents the use, purchase, discharge, possession, display, sale and offering the sale of fireworks in Brampton is prohibited.

The safety of residents is the City’s top priority, and the Fireworks By-law aims to mitigate the risk of injury and damage to property.

Residents can call 3-1-1, download the 3-1-1 app, or visit us online at www.brampton.ca to report the use or sale of fireworks. Penalties for failing to comply range from $500 to $1,000, and may reach up to $100,000 if a court summons is issued.

Brampton Transit

Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Victoria Day. Customer Service counters at the terminals are closed. The Contact Centre is available to assist from 9 am – 6 pm.

Brampton Transit Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed on Monday May 22.

Brampton Recreation

Brampton Recreation Centres will be operating under a reduced schedule over the Victoria Day Long Weekend. Holiday hours are available here.

Brampton Library

All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Sunday, May 21 and Monday, May 22 and will reopen on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Brampton Animal Services

The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, May 22, and re-open on Tuesday, May 23.

Animal Control is on the road Monday to Friday from 7 am – 11 pm, and on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 8 am – 6:30 pm. Outside of these hours, Animal Control will be responding to emergencies only.
