In a significant breakthrough, three men from Brampton face a staggering 292 charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of over 60 stolen credit cards and a substantial amount of illegal drugs.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. when Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, conducting routine traffic checks near Peel Centre Drive, Dixie Road, and Queen Street East, pulled over a vehicle driven by one of the suspects.

During the stop, officers seized a trove of illicit items, including more than 60 stolen credit cards, over 20 identity documents, and a variety of drugs believed to be heroin and methamphetamine.

The individuals arrested at the scene have been identified as Vishaldeep Singh, 25, Jaskaran Singh, 25, and Sukhjinder Singh, 24, all residents of Brampton. They are now facing an array of charges, each accused of 61 counts of possession of a credit card, 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and 22 counts of possession of identity documents, among other serious offenses.

The three men are scheduled to appear in court on July 11 to respond to the charges.

The press release emphasized the department’s dedication to reuniting stolen identity documents and banking cards with their rightful owners. “If any member of the public has had their driver’s license, health card, credit card, or debit card stolen in the Peel Region area recently, please contact the Mississauga OPP at 905-858-8670,” the spokesperson urged in a news release.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat identity theft and drug-related crimes in the region. The substantial number of charges reflects the seriousness of the offenses and the commitment of the OPP to maintaining public safety.

As the investigation continues, the police encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward, reinforcing the community’s role in assisting law enforcement efforts.
