Kirandeep Kaur is a British citizen and was married to Amritpal Singh at his native village, Jallupur Khera, in February this year. Her name has allegedly cropped in connection with the foreign funding to the ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation headed by Amritpal Singh.

Amritpal Singh has been on the run since March 18 when a crackdown was launched against him and his supporters in connection with storming of Ajnala police station and injuring six cops during the clash on February 23. The police had registered a case against him and his associates a day later. But a crackdown to arrest him and his accomplices was launched on March 18. He has been evading arrest since then by changing appearance and vehicles.

Though police officials are tight lipped over Kirandeep Kaur being detained at airport for questioning, sources in the intelligence said that a look out circular was issued against her. Therefore, when she arrived at the airport, she was stopped for questioning.

She arrived at the airport at around 11.30 am. Her flight was to take off at 1.30pm, which was delayed by an hour. She reportedly pointed out that she was a British citizen and there was no case registered against her. She had denied the allegations against her about foreign funding and relations with Babbar Khalsa organisation.
