On the occasion of Kartar Singh Sarabha’s Martyrdom Day, a cycle rally was organized in Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana on Thursday. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off this cycle rally and on this occasion the CM himself rode a cycle. Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had said that this is not a political rally, nor is this rally any kind of power show.

He said that the purpose of this rally is that the youth who are trapped in the swamp of drugs should be made aware and taken out of the swamp of drugs. The CM said that Punjab is the land of martyrs and we all have to eliminate drugs from Punjab together. He also said that a holiday has been made in schools today so that children can also get information about Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha.

On this occasion, CM Mann also announced to give one crore rupees to all 10 players of the gold medal winning hockey team. About 20 thousand people of all age groups have participated in this cycle rally against drugs. On this occasion, DGP of Punjab Gaurav Yadav said that Punjab Police is fighting the war against drugs with full determination. Gaurav Yadav also congratulated Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu and his team for this cycle rally.
