Biden to Visit Canada Thursday Evening

U.S. President Joe Biden will commence his eagerly anticipated official visit to Canada on Thursday evening. During his time in the nation’s capital, Biden is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and deliver a speech to Parliament on Friday.

In addition, the Bidens have several other events on their agenda where they will discuss important Canada-U.S. issues and shared priorities. Preparations for Biden’s brief visit are underway, including heightened security measures, extensive road closures, and an increased police presence.

The Bidens and the presidential delegation will land in Ottawa on Air Force One, where they will be welcomed by a delegation of Canadian officials. Upon arrival, Biden will meet with the governor general inside the Canada Reception Centre at the Ottawa Airport before heading to Rideau Cottage to hold an informal meeting with Trudeau and his wife.

Rideau Cottage is situated on the grounds of Rideau Hall, approximately seven kilometers northeast of Parliament Hill.
