#BollywoodMonster Mashup Brings Bollywood Magic Back to Mississauga Celebration Square

The highly anticipated #BollywoodMonster Mashup is set to dazzle Mississauga Celebration Square once again on July 26 & 27, promising a vibrant celebration of Bollywood music, dance, and culinary delights. Presented by TD Bank Group, the festival features two free #BollywoodMonster Concerts, alongside a captivating lineup of activities for the whole family.
On Friday, July 26, festival-goers will be treated to the melodious voice of Bollywood icon Kavita Krishnamurti, renowned for her unforgettable rendition of “Bole Chudiyan” from the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Joining her on stage is India’s celebrated Carnatic violin maestro, Dr. L Subramaniam, known for his collaborations with music legends like Stevie Wonder and George Harrison.
Saturday, July 27, promises another night of musical enchantment with Yasser Desai, the soulful voice behind hits like “Makhna” from the film Drive. This performance marks Krishnamurti’s only Canadian tour stop this year, offering fans a rare chance to experience her live.
“This year’s festival is bringing something new and exciting with Bollywood x 60’s psychedelic-inspired music mashups by the #BollywoodMonster Orchestra,” said festival Executive Director Vikas Kohli. “Audiences can groove to Bollywood and fusion beats while enjoying delectable offerings from over 40 food vendors. It’s a celebration of all things Bollywoodstani!”
The festival’s signature event on Saturday, July 27, will feature the #BollywoodMonster Orchestra, presenting remixes of Bollywood classics fused with contemporary hits like Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and Michael Buble’s “Sway”. Accompanying them will be Montreal-based dance troupe Veils of Bollywood, showcasing vibrant choreography blending Bollywood with modern influences.
