The City of Brampton is launching the Explore Brampton Youth Pass program, which will provide free transit and summer drop-in recreation passes to youths aged 12 to 16. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of teenagers in the area, allowing them to access a range of recreational opportunities throughout the summer months.

Applications for the program are currently open and will close on May 7th. Successful applicants will be able to use their passes between July 1st and September 4th. Last year, the pilot program was launched, and it proved to be highly successful, with over 1,200 applications approved. The top three recreation drop-in programs were fitness, swimming, and basketball.

The Explore Brampton Youth Pass program is an excellent example of the City’s commitment to making Brampton a safe and healthy community through accessible programming. According to Councillor Rowena Santos, Brampton has a lot to offer young people, with a wealth of recreational opportunities available at the city’s various Recreation Centres. Santos added that the program provides an opportunity for young people to engage in fun and healthy activities that promote their development and wellbeing.
