Brampton Man Arrested After Violent Carjacking in North Mississauga
A Brampton man has been apprehended and charged with multiple offenses following a violent carjacking incident in north Mississauga. The harrowing incident, which involved the victim being thrown from the moving vehicle as it ran red lights, was captured on video by police officers aboard a helicopter during the pursuit.
On July 14, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the white 2022 Ford F550 cargo van was stolen from York Region by the suspect who was fleeing police in a dangerous manner. The suspect deliberately rear-ended the victim’s vehicle at the busy intersection of Goreway Dr. and Morning Star Dr. in Malton.
After the collision, the victim exited their vehicle, and a struggle ensued when the suspect seized control of the victim’s car. The suspect fled the scene at a high speed with the victim still inside, running red lights as they made their escape. After a short period, the victim was forcibly ejected from the vehicle while it was in motion, resulting in minor injuries.
