Brampton Man Fatally Shot in Home; Police Searching for Suspects

Peel Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a man in his 20s inside a Brampton residence late Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at a home near Heritage and Embleton roads around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead shortly after.

“It is still very early on in the investigation,” Const. Michelle Stafford told reporters at the scene on Thursday. “We have no suspect information to release at this time.”

Authorities confirmed that several other individuals were inside the home during the incident. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, although police did not specify how they were hurt.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation, with officers canvassing the area for security footage and dash cam video that may assist in identifying the suspect.

Police have not yet disclosed the victim’s identity or released further details regarding the motive behind the shooting.
