Brampton Resident Gurarpan Aulakh Arrested in Attempt to Murder Investigation

In a significant breakthrough, investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau successfully apprehended a suspect in connection with an attempted murder case that unfolded during the early hours of Saturday, August 19, 2023. The arrested individual has been identified as Gurarpan Aulakh, a 23-year-old resident of Brampton. The incident took place in the vicinity of Tomken Road and Derry Road East in the City of Mississauga.

According to official reports, an altercation escalated into a violent confrontation between two individuals during the hours spanning 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. In the heat of the altercation, the accused allegedly brandished a firearm and fired, striking the victim in the chest. Swift medical attention was provided, and while the injuries sustained by the victim were assessed as non-life threatening, the incident left the community in shock.

Law enforcement agencies collaborated extensively to bring the case to its current state. The Ontario Provincial Police and Thunder Bay Police Service were pivotal in assisting the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau with their pursuit of the suspect. This cooperative effort culminated on Monday, August 21, 2023, when the accused was apprehended and taken into custody.
