Brothers Arrested for Harbouring Amritpal Singh, Wanted Posters Put at Railway Stations
Amritpal Singh is still on the run and police is conducting search operations in order to arrest him. In the latest attempt, Punjab police arrested two brothers from Hoshiarpur who reportedly helped Amritpal escape on March 28. Additionally, a search operation was recently conducted in Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, and wanted posters of Amritpal have been put up at multiple railway stations.
Police has arrested brothers Hardeep Singh (22) and Kuldip Singh (30) who are residents of Rajpur Bhaian village, Hoshiarpur, and they were produced before a court which ordered a four-day police remand for them. According to the police, when Amritpal escaped on March 28, he met the brothers in Marnaian village and they reportedly took him in, fed him, and gave him clothes.
Their lawyers Tanheer Singh Bariana and J.S. Bhutta said Hardeep and Kuldip were arrested under Section 212 (harbouring offender) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly harbouring Amritpal Singh.
