BSF exchanges sweets with Pakistan Rangers, hoists national flag at Attari border

The Border Security Force, on the occasion of India’s 74th Republic Day, continued its annual tradition of exchanging sweets with the Pakistani rangers at the Attari border as well as the India-Pakistan international border in Jammu.

The Republic Day tradition takes place on different Indo-Pak borders every year to promote the message of brotherhood between the nations. Alongside Republic day, troops from either nations also exchange sweets and greetings on Eid, Holi, Diwali, and Independence Day.

The Internation Border in Jammu also saw a similar sight where border outposts in Akhnoor, Samba, Kathua, Arnia and R S Pura witnessed the cordial exchange of sweets and greetings between the BSF and the Pakistan Rangers, according to media reports.BSF Inspector General D K Boora unfurled the tricolour on the occasion, remembering the sacrifices of BSF troops.
