BSF shoots at drone; recovers 3kg drugs, Chinese pistol in Ferozpur sector

Early Friday morning, the Border Security Force shot at a drone near the International Border in the Ferozpur sector, and seized a packet of consignment containing 3kg of narcotics, a Chinese pistol, and ammunition dropped by the drone, according to media reports.
“During intervening night of February 9-10, BSF troops deployed along the border with Pakistan in the area of responsibility of MW Uttar Border Outpost, detected a drone attempting intrusion into Indian territory…Counter-drone measures were initiated and the drone was fired upon. During subsequent search by BSF troops, a packet of consignment dropped by the intruding drone, containing approx three kgs of heroin, a China-made pistol, cartridges and a magazine were recovered,” a BSF officer detailed, according to media outlets.
An investigation and a thorough search of the location are underway. Concerned authorities have also been notified about the incident, media reports add.
