Cracking Down on Illegal Trucking Operations in Caledon: Fines of $75,000 Imposed on Latest Offender
The Town of Caledon has been cracking down on illegal trucking operations, and recent complaints from residents have led to another successful case. A trucking company, known as 2423274 Ontario Inc., has been found guilty of operating illegally on a property zoned for agricultural use. Despite being fined a total of $75,000, this is just the latest illegal trucking operation in the Caledon area taken to court this year.
According to a release by the Town, complaints from locals led staff to investigate the property, which ultimately led to the company being fined for violating town bylaws. The Town has been actively investigating over 300 locations across Caledon, and has found that some 180 properties had at least one tractor-trailer or commercial vehicle parked or stored, indicating that the issue of illegal trucking is widespread in the area.
