A driver from Brampton received a harsh lesson on Tuesday (July 25) when Peel Regional Police charged them with stunt driving following a reckless incident at Westwood Mall in Mississauga.

The mall’s parking lot has gained notoriety as a hotspot for loud car meet-ups, prompting the authorities to take action against drivers who engage in dangerous stunts such as drifting and performing donuts.

In a daring and ill-advised move, one driver decided to show off their fast and furious skills right in front of a Peel Regional Police officer, performing doughnuts without considering the consequences.

As a result of their actions, the 21-year-old driver from Brampton found themselves facing serious charges of stunting. The penalties were swift and severe, with a 30-day license suspension and a 14-day impoundment of their vehicle, as mandated by the authorities.

In recent months, the police have been vigilant in tackling the issues of street racing and stunt driving, leading to the seizure of several vehicles and the laying of numerous charges. Back in late February, a focused police blitz on illegal stunt drivers and street racers resulted in numerous charges, as law enforcement and local officials joined forces to address the growing problem.

This incident serves as a stark reminder that reckless driving and dangerous stunts not only put the driver at risk but also result in severe legal consequences. Peel Regional Police continues to actively combat such behavior to ensure public safety on the roads.
