Ex-Punjab Cop Who Performed On America’s Got Talent, Arrested On Drug Charges

Jagdeep Singh, a former police employee also known as Deep Singh, renowned for his appearances on platforms such as America’s Got Talent, has been apprehended by the State Special Operation Cell along with two associates in Punjab’s Tarn Taran area. The arrest was made on grounds of possession, with 500 grams of heroin recovered during the operation. Singh’s SUV, adorned with a Punjab Police sticker, was a notable detail.

Singh, once associated with the Bir Khala Group, showcased his skills in Gatka, a traditional Sikh martial art, on America’s Got Talent Season 14, advancing to the quarter-finals with the group. Standing at an impressive height of seven feet and six inches, he surpasses the stature of ‘The Great Khali.’ Singh, citing personal reasons, had previously resigned from the Punjab Police.

In an unrelated incident last month, Punjab Police pursued and apprehended two drug smugglers near the Indo-Pak border after a 40-kilometre chase. The individuals, identified as Arshdeep Singh (also known as Arsh) from Nurpur village and Rajpreet Singh (also known as Raj) from Maloke village, both in Ferozepur, were found in possession of 2 kilograms of heroin. Their mode of transportation, a Mahindra Scorpio SUV, was also confiscated.

DGP Gaurav Yadav disclosed that the Tarn Taran Police initiated the pursuit based on confidential information about heroin smuggling. The chase extended from near Bhikhiwind to Chohla Sahib, with the district police promptly sealing exit points through special checkpoints. The culprits were eventually captured at a checkpoint established by SHO Chohla Sahib, where 2 kilograms of heroin were discovered in their Scorpio. During the arrest, one of the suspects sustained an ankle injury while attempting to escape from the moving vehicle.
