Four Soldiers Killed in Firing at Bathinda Military Station After Two Men in Civil Clothes Opened Fire
In a firing incident at the Bathinda Military Station, four soldiers from an artillery unit have been killed. Two people dressed in civil clothing are said to be responsible for the shooting and they escaped into the forest area. For now, a rifle used in the shooting has been recovered and the police is looking for the two suspects.
A senior officer at the Bathinda Military Station shared, “A firing incident reported around 4.35 am inside the Bathinda Military Station. Station Quick Reaction Teams were activated. The area was cordoned off and sealed.” As per the police, the two men were wearing white kurta-pyjama and opened fire at four jawans sleeping in two barrack rooms behind the officers’ mess. They then went into the forest area and escaped.
The victims have been identified as Sagar Banne (25), Kamalesh R (24), Yogesh Kumar J (24), and Santosh M Nagaral (25). Punjab police is working with the military to bring the suspects to justice. They have stated that this was not a terrorist act. Furthermore, the army stated that an INSAS rifle that was reported missing at the Bhatinda Military Station has been found.
