The Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) stated that 61 trucks of humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Thursday through the Rafah crossing with Egypt, as the need for dire humanitarian relief intensifies in Gaza, as reported by The Times of Israel.
Within the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the COGAT unit coordinates civilian matters involving the Israeli government, Israel Defense Forces, foreign agencies, diplomatic representatives, and the Palestinian Authority.
The Times of Israel reported that the trucks also “contained food, water, and medical supplies.”
In addition, a number of nations and international organizations have been giving Gazan citizens humanitarian supplies.
According to The Times of Israel, the US has also made it clear that it hopes to see 100 trucks pass the border each day.
During their meeting on Wednesday, US Vice President Kamala Harris and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke on Israel’s right to self-defense and the pressing need to boost the flow of humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
