Indian Families Anxious as Diplomatic Rift with Canada Raises Concerns for International Students, Foreign Workers
Indian parents are growing increasingly anxious about the well-being of their children studying in Canada, following the escalating diplomatic tensions between the two countries. While many students continue their studies uninterrupted, concerns are rising, especially after reports of visa delays and potential disruptions to embassy services.
Gurkirat Singh, an international student who began his studies at a college in Kitchener this September, is among those whose family is feeling the strain. His father, Baldev Singh, expressed his unease: “We are constantly worried about Gurkirat’s safety. With news of both countries expelling each other their diplomats, we fear that if anything goes wrong, there might be no immediate help.”
