Lockdown Lifted from Peel Schools; Suspect Arrested & Guns Recovered

After a series of threats released to the peel schools, a suspect has been arrested by peel police.

Peel Police tweeted about reports of a person arrested with weapons and currently under custody. The education facility was placed in hold and secure which was lifted after some time.

According to the police, the call was received at 10:37 a.m. from the area near Sandalwood Pkwy and Great Lakes Dr in Brampton. Videos of the students being arrested from outside the school facility have also been surfacing on the social media.

“@PeelPolice have been working closely with both school boards as they investigate the veracity of the threats, and build out a safety plan for the impacted school communities. While @PeelPolice do not have any evidence to support the threats beyond the Snapchat post, they are proceeding with safety planning out of an abundance of caution,” Mayor Brown tweeted a day ago.
