To ensure safety during construction hours, the northbound lane will be monitored by a flag person or Peel Police. The watermain work is estimated to continue until September, and the Region is advising drivers to plan for longer travel times due to the closure of this major north-south arterial road.

As such, motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes, and the Region has stated that detour routes will be clearly marked with road signs. In light of the potential traffic slowdowns, it is crucial for drivers to stay informed and plan their routes accordingly, to ensure a safe and efficient journey.
