Manish Tewari fielded from Chandigarh: Congress releases another list of 16 candidates 

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday released a list of 16 more candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, fielding Vikramaditya Singh, son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, from Mandi.

Former Union minister and Congress MP Manish Tewari has been fielded from Chandigarh parliamentary constituency. As per INDIA bloc’s seat sharing deal, Tewari will be the candidate for both the Aam Aadmi party and the Congress.

The Mandi seat is currently represented by his mother Pratibha Singh, who is the incumbent chief of Himachal Pradesh Congress.  Earlier in the day, the Congress had held a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee to finalise the names of the candidates.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had named actor Kangana Ranaut as its candidate from Mandi constituency.
