About 900 Still Without Power in Etobicoke After Hydro Poles Knocked Down
Dixon Road between McManus Road and Inchcliffe Crescent is still closed. According to Chung, the road closure is expected to last until Monday.
In Etobicoke, three hydro poles were destroyed by a two-vehicle collision on Saturday night, leaving about 900 customers without electricity as of Sunday.
One person suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital.
According to Toronto police, the vehicles collided near Royal York and Dixon roads. According to police, the crash also brought down live wires and caused a transformer fire. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 10:40 p.m.
According to Nicole Kubas, a spokesperson for Toronto Hydro, power is expected to be restored at 6 p.m. The number of customers without power peaked at 1,500, but dropped overnight due to repairs, which are still ongoing on Sunday, she said.

In a tweet, Toronto Hydro stated that the crash caused extensive damage and that crews will need time to safely repair the poles and wires.
“We understand how difficult it is to be without power, and we sincerely appreciate your patience,” Toronto Hydro said.
According to Const. Cindy Chung, a spokesperson for the Toronto police, officers are still on the scene assisting with the road closure.
