One Man Shot Dead In Vaughan, Could be Linked to North York Shootings

A shooting in Thornhill Woods area in Vaughan has resulted in one casualty and the case is under investigation. The man was shot at the side of the road and the police found him without vital signs. The police also shared that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

At around 3:45 a.m., cops were called to Dufferin Street and Summeridge Drive regarding a man who had been shot at the side of the road. York Regional Police reached the scene and found one man with a gunshot wound and without vital signs. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been revealed.

YRP also stated that during the investigation, it found that two people had been shot in North York at around the same time. While it’s too early to say at this point, the police are looking into whether these cases are linked. The police cleared the area and notified the people that there was no threat to public safety.

Andrey Zavidovskiy, one of the neighbors in the quite suburb, said, “We’re just shocked to see this happening right in our front yard. And to hear now that somebody has been murdered and there’s a shooting going on so locally, this is very concerning.”

There are no details on the shooter or why the shooting occurred. The police has asked anyone with information to come forward and contact them.
