A recent report from rental platform Rentola.ca has unveiled the safest cities in Canada, with Ontario cities taking the lead in the top 10 rankings. The study analyzed various indicators on a scale of one to 10, including the number of citizens per police officer, rates of violent and non-violent crimes, and the crime-solving rate.

Barrie, Ontario secured the top spot as the safest city among all Canadian metropolitan areas, with an impressive overall safety index of 7.13. Following closely behind is Brantford, Ontario, which claims the second position with an overall safety index of 7.00.

Guelph, Ontario secures the third position as the safest city in Canada, boasting an overall safety index of 6.84. Toronto, Ontario follows closely as the fourth safest city in the country, with a safety index of 6.63. Saint John, New Brunswick takes the fifth spot, with a commendable safety index of 6.46.

Among the 34 cities analyzed in the study, Winnipeg received the lowest safety index, scoring 4.59.
