Punjab Police Arrests Two Rajasthan-based Weapon Smugglers from Fazilka
Punjab police has arrested two weapon smugglers in Fazilka, along with recovering firearms and fake currency. They were trying to smuggle a consignment of weapons and the police received information about this transaction. An FIR has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
After getting information on an arms deal, Punjab police conducted a Naka Bandi at Abohar-Hanunangarh road in Fazilka and successfully arrested two Rajasthan-based weapon smugglers identified as Banna Ram alias Vinod Devasi and Mukesh alias Muksha Rabari, from Jodhpur. The police also recovered seven .32-bore pistols with two live cartridges and one .315-bore country-made pistol with two live cartridges. Fake Indian currency worth Rs 9,650 was also recovered from their possession.
According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, the two accused were trying to move a consignment of weapons from Madhya Pradesh to Arsh Dhalla gang members in Punjab. An FIR has been registered under sections 489-A, 489-B, and 489-C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station SSOC Fazilka.
