Punjab Update: Section 144 Imposed in Muktsar and Fazilka District of Punjab
A video of a supporter is going viral on social media, saying that Amritpal Singh has been arrested and was kept at Shahkoth Police Station till 3 pm, Saturday.
Section 144 has been imposed in several districts of Punjab including Muktsar and Failka, following the ongoing arrest attempt of Amritpal Singh.
Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh said, “We don’t know where is Amritpal Singh. According to our information, he is arrested. But (the) police has told us to tell Amritpal to surrender to (the) police. We are concerned that something may happen to him.”
When questioned by the source about the activities of Amritpal being anti-national, Singh’s father said, “Police had come to the house. They searched the house. We cooperated with them. We are doing nothing illegal to hide.”

On the other hand, heavy parliamentary security forces have been deployed in the village of Amritpal Singh. ID cards of anyone entering the village are being checked.
