Service Ontario expanding online options

In addition to video health card renewal appointments and online marriage licence applications, Ontario is increasing its digital choices at ServiceOntario sites.

According to Premier Doug Ford, the changes will help individuals save time and money.

According to the ministry, 64 of ServiceOntario’s busiest locations now use an improved appointment scheduling system that enables customers to make a single appointment for a variety of services or numerous family members.

Those who are unable to attend a ServiceOntario location in person can also schedule virtual appointments to renew their health cards through live video call.

According to the government, in the next months couples will be able to apply for marriage licences online through a secure site in participating towns, and digital dealership registration will be expanded to cover used autos and trade-in vehicles.

According to Public and Business Service Delivery Minister Kaleed Rasheed, new online services are routinely provided because each new user means fewer people have to wait in line.
