Sports: Rohan Bopanna 7 partner move up in Wimbledon

India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Mathew Ebden defeated D. Pel (the Netherlands) and R. Stalder (United States 7-5,4-6, 7-6 to enter the quarterfinals in men’s doubles in  the Wimbledon Tennis Championship on Tuesday.

Rohan Bopanna (43) is one of the oldest players playing in one of the oldest grand slams of tennis here. Currently ranked 11^th in men’s doubles. Rohan Bopanna and his partner defeated G. Duran and T Etcheverry of Argentina 6-2, 6-7 and 7-6 in the first round.

The Indian-Australian pair then defeated the British pair J. Fearnley and J. Monday 7-5, 6-3 in the second round. They are seeded number 6.

In the quarterfinals, Rohan Bopanna and Mathew Ebden will meet unseeded Dutch pair of T. Griekspoor and R. Stevens.
