Suspected impaired driver arrested for crash on Hwy 401 in Milton
A suspected impaired driver was arrested Monday morning after he drove in the wrong direction on Highway 401 in Milton, Ontario, leading to a head-on crash that has left another driver with serious injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred in the westbound lanes west of Guelph Line around 5 a.m. on Monday. It’s suspected that the person driving on the wrong way was under the influences of substances.
The driver in custody has not suffered major injuries, however, the other driver of the other vehicle has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, the OPP’s Highway Safety Division said. The wrong way driver was charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving and excess blood alcohol.
