Tata May Soon Announce Biggest Aircraft Deal for Air India
Tata group is reportedly closing a deal in the next few weeks to add new and some of the most advanced commercial jetliners to the Air India fleet. If it goes through, this would be the largest aviation deal in history. The report states that Tata is finalizing its negotiations with both Boeing and Airbus.
Tata group acquired Air India airlines from the government for Rs. 18,000 crores in October of 2021. Since then, the size of its fleet has increased by 27 percent with 100 aircrafts. Now, according to a new report by NDTV, the airline is expected to add several more new and advanced jetliners from Boing and Airbus.
The deal, which is said to be worth billions of dollars, may include a combination of ultra-long haul jetliners such as the Airbus A-350, large-capacity aircraft such as the Boeing 777X, as well as additional variants of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and variants of the Airbus A-320 NEO series. It could also include variants of the Boeing 737 Max jetliner.
