Three Bangladeshi Students Died in Fiery Highway 427 Crash, Investigation Underway

New information on the fiery crash on Monday night in Etobicoke that resulted in the death of three people and left with life-threatening injuries has been shared and all four occupants of the vehicle were international students from Bangladesh. The incident was described as a case of extreme high speeds.

It has been revealed that the four people involved in the crash at the Dundas exit ramp off southbound Highway 427 were international students from Bangladesh living in Toronto. Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene and the other two were rushed to a trauma center. One of the two succumbed to their injuries while the fourth is still fighting for his life.

Their names have not been revealed yet but as per the police, the three deceased included a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old boy. The driver of the vehicle, who is currently in the hospital, is a 21-year-old man.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Monday night, a car traveling southbound drove off the ramp and went over a concrete wall into a ditch before crashing into another concrete wall. It caught fire with the occupants still inside, but the fire department was able to extricate all four occupants from that vehicle.

The area was closed for several hours before it was reopened but an investigation is underway. “We continue to work out to the circumstances of this crash,” said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
