Three Dead After Multi-vehicle Collision in Etobicoke, Fourth in Life-threatening Condition

A multi-vehicle collision in Etobicoke has resulted in three deaths and one person hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The incident took place at the Dundas exit ramp off the southbound Highway 427 which has since been reopened but an investigation is underway.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, a multi-vehicle crash on the Dundas exit ramp off the southbound Highway 427 resulted in two people dead at the scene. Two more were taken to a trauma center but according to the latest reports, one of the individuals has been pronounced deceased. Toronto police had shared that one of the vehicles involved in the collision rolled over and caught fire.

The exact details of the accident are unclear and an investigation is currently underway. OPP Highway Safety Division shared the news on Twitter stating that reconstruction experts are describing this as a case of extreme high speeds. One of the vehicles with four occupants left the ramp and fell into a ditch where it caught fire. The four occupants were removed from the vehicle but two passengers in the back seat were pronounced dead.
