Three International Students Dead In Fatal Car Crash In Brampton, One Person Arrested
A tragic two-vehicle collision resulted in three fatalities in the early hours of Thursday, with one individual now in police custody. The incident occurred on Bovaird Drive, just east of Chinguacousy Road, around 1:30 a.m., where a vehicle collided with a pole.
According to Peel police Const. Tyler Bell, “At the time, there were varying reports that there may have been a second vehicle involved and that there may have been high speeds.”
The victims, three young men in a Volkswagen Jetta, were found at the crash site. Despite efforts by first responders to revive them, all three were declared dead. Their identities remain undisclosed pending notification of next-of-kin.
The three victims were believed to be working at a salon, nearby to the accident scene.

Meanwhile, a Nissan Altima, identified as a second vehicle involved, was discovered abandoned at a nearby gas station. The suspected driver was apprehended at a residence. Bell explained, “Based on the condition of the vehicle, we associated that with the crash here. Evidence at the scene confirmed that.” The arrested individual may face charges related to three counts of failure to remain and cause death.
Peel police’s initial theory suggests a high-speed interaction between the two westbound vehicles on Bovaird Drive. Bell stated, “The sequence of events, how they came into contact, that’s all part of the investigation from our Major Collision Bureau.” However, when asked about the possibility of racing before the crash, Bell could not confirm the information.
The collision prompted the closure of Bovaird Drive for over 15 hours as authorities conducted a thorough investigation into the tragic incident.
