Three People Fell Through Ice Near Toronto Islands; Rescued
After a skating accident on Lake Ontario on Monday morning, three people are now in the care of paramedics.
After a skating accident on Lake Ontario on Monday morning, three people are now in the care of paramedics.
According to Toronto police, the three people were seen in the water around 8:30 a.m. near the Toronto Islands.
The Marine Unit responded to the scene and assisted in the rescue of members of the group from the icy waters.
In a subsequent tweet, police stated that two of the people were skating on the ice when they fell through it. According to them, a third person attempted to assist them and also fell into the water.
