After catching fire, a multi-story building in north Delhi collapsed on Wednesday, after which about 100 firemen managed to escape narrowly, three of which are said to be injured. The four-story building on Roshnara Road close to Pul Bangash metro station abruptly collapsed as responders on the scene tried to put out the fire.
According to Delhi Fire Service officials, all of the firefighters who were putting out the fire had a very narrow escape, and three of them had only minor wounds.
“The fire was brought under control after over four-and-a-half hours of the incident but cooling operations will continue till Thursday morning,” Director Atul Garg of Delhi Fire Service stated.
The three injured fire service personnel were rushed to receive medical attention soon after the collapse and have since been discharged, according to media outlets.
Visuals, supposedly of the incident, have since been circulated many times across social media and show the building being reduced to rubble while firefighting efforts were underway on the site of the fire.
